QGISはラスタレイヤーに対して透過レベルを調節して表示する機能を備えています。 現在のレイヤーを透過してその下にあるレイヤー（あれば）がどの程度見えるようにするかを示すには、transparencyスライダを利用します。 この機能は、例えば陰影表現された地形図上に分類画像をオーバーレイした場合のような、複数のラスタレイヤーをオーバーレイしたときに非常に有用です。 このような利用法によって、地図をより立体的な見た目にすることができるでしょう。

さらに、NODATAとして扱いたいピクセル値を指定することもできます。

Custom transparencyオプションの項目ではより柔軟な透過の設定を行うことができます。 全てのピクセルの透過率はこのタブで指定することができます。

例として、サンプルラスタファイルのlandcover.tifの水域を透過率20%に設定したいとします。 その場合、以下のステップを実行します。

  1. landcoverファイルを読み込む
  2. 凡例画面からラスターファイル名をダブルクリックするか、右クリックメニューから Properties を選択してpropertiesダイアログを開く
  3. Transparencyタブを選択
  4. MActionNewAttribute.png Add values manuallyボタンをクリック。pixel-listテーブルに新しい行が作成される
  5. ピクセル値を入力し（ここでは0を使用）、透過率を20%に設定
  6. Applyを押して地図の表示を確認

4と5のステップを繰り返すことで、その他のピクセル値に対してのカスタム透過率の設定を追加することができます。

以上からわかるとおり、カスタム透過率の設定は非常に簡単ですが、大変手間のかかる作業でもあります。 そこで、MActionFileSave.png Export to fileボタンによって透過率設定リストをファイルに保存することができるようになっています。 また、MActionAddRasterLayer.png Import from fileボタンで透過率設定ファイルを読み込んで、現在のラスタレイヤーに適用することができます。
